Ultimately, excellence is not about some arbitrary standard by anyone else’s say so. Neither therefore is there any need for a sense of competition other than competing with one’s own ongoing growth and development.
This journey is definitely both ‘ the road less traveled’ as well as, at times, disconcerting, intimidating or even painful. It is also, however worth every step of the way in the rewards derived therefrom – rewards such as self- respect, self-definition and authenticity that become like a magnet for the precise circumstances, opportunities and generative alliances that best afford access to our greatness. This greatness is in terms of not only being true servant- leadership that inspires but also our own fulfillment that is both satisfying and sustainable. This latter proposition is what I assert to be true success. You have heard it said that we come this way once… Make it count.
“I shall pass through this world but once,
Any good, therefore, that I can show to any human being,
Let me do it now.
Let me not defer nor neglect it,
For I shall not pass this way again.”
– Stephen Grellet
Greatness is the good that you, in your authentic Self, have come for. Do not die with your dreams still in you.
